Capturing the nostalgia of film photography
I have a love for film photography because of its slow process, uncertainty, yet beautiful surprises. With each photo taken with intention, they become more nostalgic as time goes on.
Taking on a medium of stop motion, required long hours of building puppets, defining characters, and simplifying my storyline to meet the tight deadlines of a quarter system project. I hope to revisit these characters one day and create a series of shorts that exemplify those fleeting feelings.
This class showed me the importance of having supportive artists to rely upon for critique and reassurance in the direction of my projects. Everyone aimed to help each other improve and tell better stories. I couldn't ask for anything more :)
